In the full field of 12, The Chosen Vron, a 5-year-old gelded son of Vronsky, settled in the mid-pack and was positioned three wide in the early stages under the guidance of jockey Hector Berrios. The race's frontrunner, Peaceful Waters, set the pace with fractions of 21.92 and 44.42 seconds.
The pivotal moment occurred while entering the turn, where The Chosen Vron encountered a challenging situation, as he had to check off heels while trying to make his move.
Despite the setback, he quickly regained his momentum and surged to the front in the upper stretch. However, his determination was tested by two fierce competitors, Anarchist and Dr. Schivel, who mounted a challenge from the outside.
In an intense battle to the finish, The Chosen Vron displayed unwavering grit and managed to prevail by a head over Anarchist, with the 9-5 favorite Dr. Schivel trailing closely another head back in third place.
The thrilling race concluded with a final time of 1:09.24.
Hector Berrios, who secured three wins on the card, attributed The Chosen Vron's victory to the horse's exceptional courage, stating that "He won it for me" when the rivals made their move from the outside.
