Nathan Ake has extended his contract at Manchester City for two more years until 2027. Ake, 28, joined City from Bournemouth in 2020 on a five-year agreement for £40 million.

He was a key player for City last season, appearing in 41 games across all competitions as the club claimed the treble.

Being a Manchester City player makes me really happy every day, said the former Chelsea defender, "I have no doubts that this is the best club in the world."

"It's a club that expects excellence in all areas, which creates the ideal environment for growth." I'm at the point in my career where I want to keep growing, and I know I can do so here.

It has been a privilege to work with Pep [Guardiola] for so long - he is the best manager in football, a genius who has made me see the game differently. He is a genius who has changed the way I view the game." I owe him a huge debt of gratitude for all that he has done, both personally and professionally.

In each of his three seasons with the team, Ake has helped City win the Premier League championship, earning a total of six trophies.

But his versatility—he can play both left-back and center-back—helped him emerge as a more crucial player for the team last season. His 41 appearances were more than he made in his previous two seasons combined (40), which is a testament to his growth as a player.

Everyone in the club respects Nathan Ake - Txiki Begiristain

"With Nathan's development, it's great news for this club that he's extending his stay," said City's director of football, Txiki Begiristain. I believe he can be even better than he was last season, as he played a key role in our Triple Crown success.

Technically, tactically, and physically, he possesses all the qualities we seek for in a defender. Pep also appreciates that he is committed, professional, and willing to learn. Additionally, everyone in the club respects Nathan since he is a wonderful person.
