Andre Onana, Inter Milan's first-choice goalkeeper, is reportedly headed to Old Trafford after Manchester United and Inter Milan reached a 55 million euro transfer agreement.

Both clubs agreed on a cost of 51 million euros plus 4 million euros in add-ons for the Cameroonian player.

Erik Ten Hag has had his sights set on his former teammate Onana since the start of the transfer season, as Manchester United is eager for a starting keeper following the departure of sturdy keeper David De Gea this summer.

After leaving Ajax, Onana completed a free transfer with Inter last summer. He had a solid Serie A season, making 24 appearances, making 62 saves, and keeping 8 clean sheets.

His performance in the Champions League, on the other hand, was outstanding. He appeared in 11 UCL games last season, making 47 saves and keeping eight clean sheets.

With his feline-like reflexes and elegant footwork, along with his penchant for making important passes from goal, Onana has acquired a reputation as one of the world's top goalkeepers.

Onana's fast passing, flawless first touch, and passing range make him a formidable weapon that may be added to their offensive arsenal.

Manchester United set to sign  Rasmus Hojlund

In order to have his physical and sign the deal before joining United on their preseason tour of the United States, Onana is believed to have already said his goodbyes to his Inter teammates and is headed to Manchester. Erik ten Hag and his squad will depart from Scotland on Wednesday, having defeated Lyon in Edinburgh.

Following the signing of Onana, United is expected to focus on acquiring Atalanta attacker Rasmus Hojlund.
