Mbappe played a crucial role for PSG this season, scoring 41 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions as they won Ligue 1. The 24-year-old was also the hero of France's 2022 Qatar World Cup campaign, which saw them advance to the final, where Mbappe scored a hat-trick.
He also finished the World Cup as the Golden Boot winner.
Mbappe was entangled in such a transfer controversy last summer as Real Madrid was the front-runner to sign him for free. nonetheless, the French skipper went on to execute a U-turn on his choice and sign a new agreement with PSG, prolonging his tenure in Paris.
🚨 Kylian Mbappé has informed PSG of his decision: he’ll NOT trigger the option to extend current contract until 2025, it means that deal would expire next June 2024 — as L’Équipé called.

Mbappe is reportedly considering leaving the club after the expiration of his current contract in 2024, according to reports from France.
If Mbappe decides to remain with PSG after this summer's transfer window, the one-year extension to his contract will not be triggered, and he will be free to negotiate a new contract with another club.
To prevent the French superstar from going on a free transfer, PSG might finally have to cash in on him. The club may break the transfer record for a player in a window if it entertains offers for the 24-year-old.
Since Lionel Messi left PSG following his contract expiration, Neymar has been constantly linked with a move away from the club.
