With a decision on his future coming any day now, three clubs remain in the running to recruit soon-to-be former PSG star Lionel Messi, who might return to Barcelona or depart Europe for the United States or Saudi Arabia.

According to L'Équipe this afternoon, Inter Miami has emerged as the clear favorite to recruit the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner, even if negotiations are still ongoing and the Argentine's aim remains to return to Catalonia. A deal in which Messi crosses the Atlantic but spends the first half of next season on loan with the Blaugrana is also a possibility, although the prospects of Barcelona permanently re-signing their all-time leading scorer remain minimal.

Messi is unlikely to follow the lead of famous athletes like N'Golo Kanté, Karim Benzema, and Cristiano Ronaldo who are signing lucrative contracts with Saudi Arabia.  Messi and his wife Antonela are not interested in moving to the Gulf state with their three children, as per reports. In any event, the 35-year-old striker is anticipated to reveal his choice via social media shortly.
