After a thrilling Community Shield victory over Manchester City, Arsenal hero Aaron Ramsdale stated that their "mental block" had been broken.

Following the exciting victory, Ramsdale stated that the club has now proven its potential to defeat Manchester City in important matches, providing a huge confidence boost for the forthcoming season.

It's a milestone to know we can go and defeat Manchester City in a crucial game when it matters, Ramsdale told ITV. I'm not sure how it will go during the season, but that mental barrier is now gone. We're ready to continue throughout the entire season.

Cole Palmer gave Manchester City the lead in the 77th minute, but Leandro Trossard's incredible 11th-minute stoppage-time equalizer meant the game would be settled on penalties. Arsenal kept their nerve to win the Community Shield for the first time.

Arsenal will face Nottingham Forest in Premier League 

In an effort to build on their success in the community shield, Michael Arteta's club will face Nottingham Forest on August 12 to open the 2023โ€“24 Premier League season.
