Chelsea has signed midfielder Romeo Lavia on a seven-year contract from Southampton, bolstering their roster.

Lavia, who began his career at Anderlecht, expressed his eagerness to join the club and form bonds with his new teammates. "I'm thrilled to be joining Chelsea and contributing to this exciting project." I can't wait to start playing for such an amazing football team with such a rich history.

"I can't wait to meet all of my new teammates and build chemistry with them so that we can achieve great things together," he stated.

Lavia began his career at Anderlecht in Belgium, where he spent eight years until joining Manchester City at the age of sixteen. He earned his senior debut in September 2021 after impressing for the club's Under-18s and Elite Development Squad.

Lavia assisted his club to a 6-1 victory over Wycombe Wanderers in the EFL Cup. After making one more first-team appearance for City, he went to Southampton later that year.
