Upon his return to Copenhagen, Rasmus Højlun quickly made an impact by capping off a sensational team goal, giving Manchester United an early lead. An electric counter-attack saw Højlund doubling United's advantage before the half-hour mark.

However, disaster struck when a Marcus Rashford challenge was deemed a serious foul play after a VAR check, reducing United to ten men just before the break. Copenhagen seized the opportunity, cutting United's lead in half through Mohamed Elyounoussi.

Harry Maguire's handball in the box gifted the hosts a penalty, successfully converted by Diogo Gonçalves to level the score. The second half saw Bruno Fernandes coolly converting a penalty for Manchester United, regaining the lead, only for Lukas Lerager to equalize in the dying minutes.

The final twist came when Copenhagen snatched a dramatic winner through Roony Bardghji, stunning the Premier League visitors and pushing Manchester United to the bottom of the group.
