England captain Harry Kane has signed a four-year contract with Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich after leaving Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

After lengthy discussions between the two clubs, Bayern announced that the 30-year-old striker has agreed to a contract extension until 2027.

I'm overjoyed to be a part of FC Bayern. I've always said that I want to compete and display myself at the greatest level throughout my career, and Bayern Munich is one of the most strong teams in the world.  This club is known for its winning culture; it feels great to be here," Harry Kane stated following his transfer.

It is the most expensive transfer fee paid by a Bundesliga team. The previous record was set in 2019 when Bayern Munich spent 80 million euros to buy Lucas Hernandez from Atletico Madrid.

"Harry Kane, welcome to Munich!" We're overjoyed with this high-quality new addition. The transfer took determination, bite, and endurance, and my congratulations go to everyone at FC Bayern who was involved in these discussions, led by our CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen. Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer said in a statement that Harry Kane "will not only strengthen FC Bayern but will also be a valuable asset to the entire Bundesliga."

We're glad that Harry Kane will start donning the Bayern Munich shirt right away after a difficult transition. Harry Kane was our dream player from the start. He is a great match for us and the culture of the club in terms of football and character.

World-class center-forward has always played a key role in FC Bayern's biggest wins, and we are certain that Harry Kane can continue this success narrative. "Our fans can expect one of the best goal scorers of our generation," stated Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen.

Kane began his career with Ridgeway Rovers in London after spending time in the Arsenal and Watford development systems. In 2009, he joined Tottenham Hotspur's academy and represented the London club at all youth levels up to U-18 before earning his first professional contract in July 2010.

Starting in 2011, he played 435 competitive games for Spurs and scored 280 goals, making him the club's all-time leading scorer. Kane was the Premier League's top scorer in 2016, 2017, and 2021, and he has the second-highest total in league history, trailing only Alan Shearer. He is England's captain and has scored 58 goals in 84 full internationals, making him the record goalscorer for his team. He ended the 2018 FIFA World Cup as the tournament's leading scorer, claiming the Golden Boot with six goals.
