After getting sent off during his team's La Liga opener against Getafe on Wednesday, Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez will be suspended for two games.

After getting a red card for elbowing an opponent in the first half of Sunday's 0-0 draw against Getafe, Barcelona winger Xavi was punished for his touchline behavior.

Former Barcelona player Xavi was sent off with 20 minutes remaining after leaving his coaching area to protest a refereeing decision with the fourth official.

Xavi and Raphinha will both miss Sunday's game

Referee Cesar Soto Grado noted in his report that he had previously warned Xavi, who had voiced his disapproval of the officials at the post-game press conference.

Xavi and Raphinha will both miss Sunday's game against Cadiz as well as the August 27 trip to Villarreal.
