Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad is continuing its pursuit of Liverpool superstar Mohammed Salah, British media reported on Thursday.

The 31-year-old winger, who last year signed a new three-year deal with the Merseyside club, has caught the attention of the team.

Liverpool is understood to not be very keen on selling the three-time Premier League Golden Boot winner.

This is the second attempt by the club to sign the Egyptian after an earlier effort earlier in the transfer window did not materialise.

The Saudi Pro League transfer window closes on September 7, and last year's champions will look to lure him out of Liverpool before the deadline.

Liverpool has already lost many high-profile players this summer, with Roberto Firmino, Jordan Henderson, and Fabinho all transferring to the Saudi League.

Al-Ittihad, who won the Saudi League last season, has already signed Karim Benzema, Ngolo Kante, Fabinho, and Filipe Jota.

According to reports, the signing of Salah might signify that Jota is on his way out of the club from Jeddah.

Salah has won one Premier League championship, one UEFA Champions League trophy, one FA Cup, one League Cup, and one Club World Cup since joining Liverpool in 2017.
