Pitch Report: A very noticeable trend at this ground has been that the team batting first has won over 70% of the matches and that is what the captain that wins the toss will ideally choose to do.
That did not matter a lot in the last match as the West Indies had a weak bowling without a wrist spinner in their squad, which is a bowling type that has had success at this ground.

West Indies vs India, 5th T20I - Fantasy Notes
West Indies - Team Notes
Points to consider
- Johnson Charles who is selected in just 8.9% of the teams is the highest run scorer in T20s at Lauderhill, Florida. He has so far failed to get going but he is a batter who has been in good form since 2022. Back him as a differential especially if West Indies bat first as it gets difficult for batting along with the increased assistance for spin, in the second innings. He was not part of the 4th T20I but you can consider him if he plays in this match.
- The in-form Nicholas Pooran not only has a poor record at Lauderhill but he also struggles against left-arm chainman bowling type. We saw that with the way he has struggled against Kuldeep Yadav in this series.
- Nicholas Pooran vs Left Arm Chinaman in T20s: Outs - 10, Average - 14, Strike Rate - 98; which is an extremely poor matchup for him. In addition, he has one of the worst batting records at Lauderhill with an average of just 12 in 9 innings.
- Despite scoring 170+ in the last match, West Indies lacked enough quality spin especially wrist spinners to cause India any big trouble. West Indies might have to consider bringing in Roston Chase, who is their only other spin option in the squad.
- Alzarri Joseph might also come back to the XI and he can cause some trouble for the Indian batters with his express pace compared to the bowlers who plaayed in the 4th T20I.
India - Team Notes
Points to consider
- In the 5 T20Is between the two sides at Florida, India won 5 and lost the other by 1 run. There has been a clear domination by the Indian team as they have also batted first on 3 of those occasions which has benefited them big time.
- It is not clear if we can make a call about the nature of the pitch entirely from the events in the previous match especially if India bats first in this match. Unlike West Indies, India has 3 quality spinners including 2 wrist spinners which will be a big advantage while defending a total at this ground provided that they post an above-par score (170+) in the first innings.
