Breakdown

  • This game will be heavily dependent on the toss and we will make all the major decisions depending on who is batting first and we will favour them in our combinations
  • In that case, back more of your bowlers from the team bowling second as teams have been able to defend scores successfully. Spinners, in particular, will be expected to play a major role at Lord's due to the long boundary dimensions, especially in the second innings.
  • Phil Salt will face a difficult matchup against Adam Zampa and the long boundary dimensions can go against his favour when he attempts a lot of attacking shots. If you still want to pick him, you can prefer doing it if he is batting in the first innings.
  • With the addition of Paul Stirling to the Invincibles squad, we might see the team make two changes with James Neesham making the way along with Tawanda Muyeye for either a bowler or a finisher like Ross Whiteley.
  • Paul Stirling at Lord's in T20s since 2018: Inns - 11, Runs - 405, Avg/SR - 37/153, 50s - 5; He has plenty of experience playing at this ground for Middlesex and he was also the star of the 2021 Hundred Final at this very ground where he smashed 61 runs off 36 balls and led the Brave to victory. There are several matchups against him and we are aware of his reputation as a hit or a miss batter. Either way, prefer picking him if the Invincibles are batting first.
  • Max Holden at Lord's in T20s since 2018: Inns - 19, Runs - 494, Avg/SR - 29/141, 50s - 1, 100s - 1; He is a Middlesex player and is the second-highest run-scorer at Lord's in T20s since 2020. Consider taking a punt on him in this match even though he has largely had an underwhelming tournament so far.
  • Generally, it gets difficult for batters in the second innings and the openers in particular will be under high threat against the new ball under the lights. Second innings batters will be risky picks.
  • Nathan Sowter is another Middlesex player and is also the 3rd highest wicket taker at Lord's in T20s since 2020. He will become an important pick, especially in the second innings.
