Pitch Report: At the toss in the last match, we learnt from the captains that there was moisture on the wicket. The center pitch used for SLvUAE had runs on offer but we saw in the Warm up match that the other pitch used was tacky and tricky for the batters. This surface also offers assistance for spinners in the latter half of the match.
We will have to wait for the latest update regarding the pitch used and its nature ahead of the match, for confirmation.

Fantasy Notes - Sri Lanka (SL) vs Oman (OMN)
Points to consider
- Base Team picks: Kusal Mendis, Pathum Nissanka, Dimuth Karunaratne, Wanindu Hasaranga, Zeeshan Maqsood, Aayan Khan
- These two teams have never faced each other in ODI history. This will be their first meeting and Sri Lanka will be the favourites to win but Oman are coming into this match on the back of two wins in the Qualifiers.
- If Sri Lanka bats first, it gets tricky as we will have to back at least 4 of their batters, if not five and include their two front-line spinners - Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana while defending a total. If they are able to post a good score as we expect them to, then the C/VC options can be narrowed down to Hasaranga and one of their batter, or C/VC two batters.
- If Sri Lanka bowls first, we will ideally look to pick most of their bowlers including differential Kasun Rajitha (17%) who will bowl in the death overs, where there is a greater opportunity for wickets. In this case, you can also consider C/VCing two bowlers.
- Although Oman looks like a team with good potential, especially with a quality left-arm pacer in Bilal Khan who will open the bowling along with a couple of decent allrounders, who can cause issues for the Lankan batters. Back Oman's all-rounders particularly those who are likely to bowl most of their overs quota (Zeeshan Maqsood, Aayan Khan). Among pacers, Bilal Khan and Fayyaz Butt are most likely to complete their full quota of overs if Oman bowls first.
- Aqib Ilyas will bat at 3 and he would have been an automatic pick if his overs were also certain. He averages over 55 in ODIs but this will be his first major challenge against a top team in this format.
- For Grand Leagues, you will have to try rotating Oman batters in multiple combinations. One of the key factors to consider is how they deal with Wanindu Hasaranga's wrist spin. Aqib Ilyas has the best record against all bowling types, and he is the best batter to back in your team among the Oman players.
