Fantasy Notes (AFGHANISTAN) - Afghanistan vs England, Match 13, ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Prediction

Points to Consider

  • When Afghanistan played their last match vs India at this ground, we saw that it was a flat and great batting-friendly wicket. Against a strong batting unit like England, the Afghans will need to post a huge total on board to have any chance in the game.
  • England batters should feast at this ground which has proven to be high-scoring so far in the World Cup. If they bat first, it will be a risk not to load up on their batters as all of the batters have the potential to end up with a good score.
  • On the other hand, if England is chasing, their top order will be expected to do much of the scoring and the lower order batters might have little to no impact with the bat.
  • According to reports, Chris Woakes was down with an illness but has returned to training. If he does not play, David Willey might replace him in the XI, which will provide England with a left-arm pace trio of Willey, Curran, and Topley.
  • Mark Wood can be a good differential C/VC option due to his express pace bowling type which will trouble the Afghan batters. In the last match at Delhi, Jasprit Bumrah picked up 4 wickets and cleaned up the lower order of Afghanistan.
  • Ibrahim Zadran vs Left Arm Pace; In ODIs: Inns - 8, Outs - 4, Avg/SR - 9/44; In T20Is: Inns - 12, Outs - 5, Avg/SR - 11/124. With atleast 2 and atmost 3 left arm pacers set to feature for England, this makes the Afghan opener vulnerable at the top of the order.
