Fantasy Notes - Toronto Nationals (TOR) vs Surrey Jaguars (SJ)

Points to consider

  • Base Team picks: Iftikhar Ahmed, Colin Munro, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Sandeep Lamichhane, Zaman Khan, Matthew Forde, Faheem Ashraf
  • Toronto Nationals' skiper Hamza Tariq is a local player and keeper-opening batter for the team. He has a selection of 35% and while most managers will give their attention to the international stars, he might get ignored. He is a batter with a good swing of the bat and is capable of scoring runs quickly at the top of the order. Do not ignore him entirely.
  • The Surrey Jaguars openers Litton Das and and Alex Hales will have contend against two qality bowling of Farooqi and Zaman Khan in the powerplay. While we can expect Hales to manage the fast bpowlers, Litton can be vulnerable against the new ball and especially against the left arm pace of Farooqi. For this reason, there is an option to take a risk against Litton Das and while he is a safe pick, he will not be a default WK pick in our team.
  • Similarly, their Number 3 batter, Nicholas Kirton is a Barbados born Canadian player. He does not have great career T20 numbers, but he has shown good skill and technique with the bat as a left hander in the first two matches in the tournament so far, which includes a half century. He will still have to contend against some quality spinners including the off spin of Iftikhar Ahmed and wrist spin of Sandeep Lamichhane.
  • JJ Smit is a capable hitter and a good bowler, but he has not been given any overs in the tournament so far, which is not helpful for his fantasy value.
  • You must try Matthew Forde as a differential pick in your fantasy team if Surrey is bowling first as he will bowl in the powerplay as well as at the death. He is selected in only 7% of the teams and he is also a handy lower order batter.
  • Note: Do not judge Surrey Jaguars players using their fantasy points on Dream11. Their second match in GT20 was washed out due to rain, so they bowled only 8 overs and did not face a single ball with the bat in that match.
  • There is a possibility for multiple changes in either this match or the next with many Pakistan A players likely to be avilable for selection now including Mohammed Haris, Saim Ayb, and Mohammad Wasim. We will make changes depending on the news at the toss.
