The Asian Games 2022, which were initially planned for September of this year, have been rescheduled to take place from September 23 to October 8, 2023, as announced by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) on Tuesday.
The decision to postpone the Asian Games was made in May due to the widespread transmission of COVID-19 in and around the host city of Hangzhou, China. The quadrennial event, originally slated for September 10 to 25, 2022, had to be rescheduled to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants and attendees.
