This development reflects the strategic moves being made by IPL teams to bolster their squads during the ongoing IPL trading window.

Romario Shepherd, who has previously featured in four IPL matches while representing Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad, has joined Mumbai Indians in exchange for his existing fee of INR 50 Lakh.

This trade presents Shepherd with an opportunity to further establish himself in the IPL and adds another dimension to the Mumbai Indians' squad.

Shepherd made his debut for Windies in 2018

The 28-year-old cricketer from Guyana made his international debut for the West Indies in 2018. Known for his prowess in the T20 format, Romario Shepherd boasts impressive statistics, with 109 wickets in 99 T20 games and a remarkable strike rate of over 150.

Having made his IPL debut with Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2022, Shepherd participated in three matches before moving to Lucknow Super Giants for the IPL 2023 season.

However, due to limited opportunities, he played just one game for his new franchise, where he did not get a chance to bowl and faced only one ball.

Mumbai Indians finished in fourth place in the IPL 2023 season, reaching the Eliminator, where they defeated the Lucknow Super Giants. Nevertheless, their campaign came to an end in Qualifier 2, with a loss to the Gujarat Titans.

With the addition of Shepherd to their roster, the Mumbai Indians aim to secure their sixth IPL title in the upcoming season.

As of the latest information, Mumbai Indians have not conducted any player transfers to the Lucknow Super Giants, maintaining a focus on strengthening their own lineup for the challenges ahead in IPL 2024.
