The camp, spanning over a period of three weeks, necessitates Laxman's undivided focus, rendering him unavailable for the three T20Is against Ireland scheduled to commence on August 18.
Assisting Kotak in his new role will be Sairaj Bahutule, who takes charge as the team's bowling coach. "Kotak and Sairaj Bahutule (bowling coach) will travel with Jasprit Bumrah & Co for the three-match T20I series (from August 18-23), as Laxman will conduct the high-performance camp from August 16 to September 5," revealed an insider source.
The BCCI has also summoned a talented pool of youngsters, including Abhishek Sharma, Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag, Prabhsimran Singh, Sai Sudarshan, Akash Singh, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, and Divyansh Saxena, to participate in the high-performance camp under Laxman's tutelage.
While the series against Ireland might consist of only three T20Is, its significance remains substantial. The tour offers a platform for players such as Jasprit Bumrah, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma, and others to showcase their mettle on the international stage.
With Sitanshu Kotak at the helm, the young Indian squad is poised to not only vie for victory but also to groom potential stars for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
