Empowered by the Middle Order

Rohit Sharma lauded the tremendous form of the middle-order batsmen, acknowledging that their outstanding performances have provided him with the freedom to express himself at the top of the batting lineup.

Sharma emphasized the responsibility shouldered by the middle order, comprising Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and KL Rahul, throughout the tournament. Each of these players has amassed more than 500 runs in the World Cup 2023.

He expressed confidence in the middle order's ability to handle pressure situations and take the team forward, even in challenging circumstances.

“From this batting group, things have fallen in place pretty well, actually. And it has given me the freedom knowing that, you know, the guys behind me are in great form,”

"Uh, you know, even if there are hiccups, you know, these guys can take the role and take the team forward, even if we are under pressure. So it gives me a lot of confidence at the top to go out there and express myself and do, uh, what I've been doing from Game one, so it's quite pleasing as well," Sharma concluded.

As India aims for glory on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the collective strength of the batting unit, particularly the middle order, will play a pivotal role in shaping the outcome of this historic encounter.
