The selection process was conducted by the Cricket Advisory Committee, comprising Ms. Sulakshana Naik, Mr. Ashok Malhotra, and Mr. Jatin Paranjape, who interviewed shortlisted candidates for the position. Following thorough consideration, the committee unanimously recommended Amol Muzumdar for the role.

In a statement, the BCCI confirmed the appointment and expressed confidence in Muzumdar's capabilities to lead the Indian women's team. 

BCCI President Roger Binny extended a warm welcome to Muzumdar's new role and shared his conviction that the team would continue to excel across various formats under Muzumdar's guidance.

With this new appointment, Indian women's cricket is poised for an exciting journey under the tutelage of a cricketing stalwart like Amol Muzumdar, who is expected to bring a wealth of experience and expertise to nurture and develop the team's talent further.
