The selection process was conducted by the Cricket Advisory Committee, comprising Ms. Sulakshana Naik, Mr. Ashok Malhotra, and Mr. Jatin Paranjape, who interviewed shortlisted candidates for the position. Following thorough consideration, the committee unanimously recommended Amol Muzumdar for the role.

In a statement, the BCCI confirmed the appointment and expressed confidence in Muzumdar's capabilities to lead the Indian women's team. 

BCCI President Roger Binny extended a warm welcome to Muzumdar's new role and shared his conviction that the team would continue to excel across various formats under Muzumdar's guidance.
