FIFA WORLD CUP QATAR 2022 Match Preview- Wales vs Iran

Wales and Iran are aware that their ability to move on to the World Cup knockout stages may depend on the outcome of their Group B encounter on Friday at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium.

Wales fought back against the USA later in the day to win a deserving share of the spoils after Iran had lost 6-2 to England on Monday.

Wales Team preview

Rob Page, the head coach of Wales, will be pleased to learn that only Joe Allen is injured. The Swansea City player missed the USA match and hasn’t played since the middle of September because of a hamstring issue. Harry Wilson and Ethan Ampadu took over in midfield, but Ampadu’s own health is now in question due to an injury. Despite having fitness concerns going into the competition, Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale both played the whole 90 minutes against the United States.

Iran Team Preview

It will be important to monitor Sardar Azmoun’s fitness because he is Iran’s star striker and hasn’t played for Bayer Leverkusen since hurting his hamstring in early October. He was barely healthy enough to sit out 13 minutes against England. With what seemed to be a fractured nose and a concussion against England, goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand was horribly hurt in a collision with a colleague.
