To complete its roster for VCT 2023, Team Liquid has added a number of new VALORANT players.
Ayaz “nAts” Akhmetshin and in-game boss Igor “Redgar” Vlasov have joined Liquid’s VALORANT roster, the organisation announced today. Saif “Sayf” Jibraeel, a former Guild Esports player, has also joined the group with the duo.
Dom “soulcas” Sulcas and Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen, both of whom have been on the team for more than a year, will be the last two players on the Liquid roster. The sole survivor of Liquid’s initial acquisition of the Fish123 roster in August 2020 is Soulcas.
To make room for the signings, the team lost a number of players. Adil “ScreaM” and Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom are related to transfers to the French company Karmine Corp. Additionally benched is Dmitriy “dimasick” Matvienko, who joined Liquid in August.
After Liquid placed in the top eight at VALORANT Champions in September, a significant roster reshuffle took place. They were the third-best team in the EMEA region, placing behind only Fnatic and FunPlus Phoenix.
The EMEA international league, which will begin in 2019, will feature Liquid as a participant. The kick-off tournament for the 2023 VCT circuit will take place in So Paulo, Brazil, and will feature all 30 partnered teams over the course of three weeks.
The event’s winner will secure their region a second spot at the Masters later in the year.
