Ireland – Fantasy Notes

  • Simi Singh has a selection % of over 74 and as we mentioned in our last preview, Scotland is a RHB dominated team so he is a player you can take a risk on by dropping in most combinations for this match. If you still want to keep him, include him if he bowls in the second innings.
  • A good alternative pick for Simi Singh is the legbreak bowler Gareth Delany, who is likely to bowl more overs in this match. Pick him as a differential in your teams – he currently has a selection % of just 13.
  • Both Paul Stirling and Harry Tector struggle to score quick enough and struggle against left-arm spin. While Stirling has done well against Scotland so far, his major threat will be Mark Watt potentially bowling early on in the powerplay. We consider him to be a “high-risk high-reward” player for this match.
  • Alternatively, Balbirine is a major differential in this match as he has decent numbers against left-arm orthodox bowling type despite struggles to score quickly in the powerplay.

Scotland – Fantasy Notes

  • Michael Leask is selected in over 94% of the teams and while he could still do damage with the bat, his off-spin gets countered by an Irish batting with only right-handers.
  • An excellent alternative pick for Leask is Chris Greaves, who has similar potential with the bat and whose leg-spin if used, will trouble the Irish right handers in this match. Pick him as a differential in your team.
  • If Scotland decide to play Hamza Tahir in this match for the same reason mentioned above, he will be a good differntial pick as well particularly if he bowls in the second innings.
  • George Munsey is suspect against left-arm pace in the powerplay and will struggle against Joshua Little. Rotate him in different combinations with Michael Jones or Berrington in your Grand leagues.
