The deadline for FPL GW11 team selection is 14th October 11:00PM IST. Here are some things to keep in mind before you prepare your best XI for this gameweek.

Another gameweek comprising of mouth watering Premier League fixtures has arrived. Here is how you can shape your team up for the following gameweeks.

GAMEWEEK 12 PREPARATION:

Gameweek 12’s fixture between Man City and Arsenal has been postponed. This makes it very tricky for the managers to prepare their teams before GW12 and try to keep as many City Arsenal players out of their starting 11s as possible. On an average, almost every FPL manager owns 3-4 players from City and Arsenal. The most hassle free option is to bench 3 of them and play with one of the players starting and blanking. But if you want to maximize your points, this week’s transfer could be very handy. Transferring out a premium like KDB for another premium like Salah or Son for a 2 gameweeks could turn out to be a good move. Managers can even have a look at cheap midfielders having great fixtures like Zaha.

REECE JAMES REPLACEMENT:

Chelsea fullback Reece James suffered an injury against Milan in the midweek Champions League group stage fixture. James’ ownership in the FPL is very high and this injury has caused a headache to several managers. Defenders haven’t been consistent off late barring Trippier and Cancelo. If you own both of them, replacing James will be a tough move. William Saliba and Ivan Perisic seem to be the two obvious options, but Perisic is no longer a nailed on starter. Transferring in a Crystal Palace defender like Joachim Anderson or Marc Guehi could also be a good switch.

ONES TO WATCH OUT FOR:

  • Phil Foden: Man City winger has been in terrific form in front of goal recently. He has scored 5 and assisted 1 goal in his last 3 Premier League appearances. After having a mild start to the season, he has lit up the league recently. His price makes him a solid pick at 8.2m. With this wave of mid range midfielders going around, Foden’s name should be on the top of that list.

  • Antony: Manchester United’s Brazilian winger has had a solid start to his career in the English top flight, scoring on all 3 occasions. He has seemed to be Red Devils’ most threatening player in the past 3 games. Priced at just 7.6m, he is another mid range winger that you should be having a keen eye on.

  • Pierre Emerick Aubameyang: Chelsea’s newly recruited striker Aubameyang has had a warm welcome to the Prem. He has already racked up 3 goals and an assist since signing for the Blues. With Broja being the only real competitor for his spot in the side, it looks certain that Aubameyang will be Chelsea’s main man in the attack this season. FPL managers should have a look at him if they’re in search of talismanic forwards for their sides.

DIFFERENTIALS:

  • Gianluca Scamacca: West Ham’s towering striker Scamacca has finally had some joy in front of goal after having a dreadful start to his career in London. The Italian forward has bagged goals in both of his previous 2 appearances in the Premier League. With just 1.7% of the managers owning him, he becomes an excellent differential option at 6.7m given the run of fixtures that West Ham enjoy.

  • Patson Daka: A very similar option to Scamacca, Daka has also been in fine form off late, scoring 3 and assisting 1 goal in the last 4 Premier League games for the Foxes. With James Maddison being in cracking form as well, service doesn’t seem to be an issue for Daka. He is a great cheap differential pick to look at, as his ownership stands at 1.2% and he is valued at just 5.7m.

  • Alex Iwobi: Everton’s winger turned midfielder Alex Iwobi has been consistently impressive for Lampard’s side. He has assisted 3 goals and scored 1 in his past 5 games for the Merseyside. At a price of 5.5m and an ownership of just 0.5%, he automatically becomes a great differential pick for your side.

  • Philip Billing: Bournemouth’s towering midfielder Philip Billing has been one of the very few consistent players for the Cherries this season. He returned an impressive tally of 10 points during his last outing against Leicester. With only 0.8% of the managers owning him, he becomes a top differential pick to have as a bench player.

MISTAKES TO AVOID:

Don’t miss out on the midfield wave:

Mid range midfielders are having field days in FPL these days. Premium defenders have been disappointing regularly which makes a 5 midfielder formation a no-brainer move. Even if you haven’t managed to move on from a 4 at the back formation, it’s time to do so. Midfielders are the real deal right now and missing out on them might prove to be very costly in the longer run.

CAPTAINCY PICKS:

  • Erling Haaland
  • Harry Kane
  • Pierre Emerick Aubameyang
  • Gabriel Jesus
Haaland is a must have in all FPL teams right now.
