Barbados Royals – Fantasy Notes

  • Keep Kyle Mayers in your team but consider him for the armband only when he bats in the 2nd innings as he has been struggling batting first in these conditions. He is not worth dropping as he could contribute points with the ball as well.
  • Obed McCoy and Jason Holder are top fantasy options when they bowl in the 1st innings.
  • Rahkeem Cornwall has generally struggled against the ball spinning away from him. Imad Wasim could trouble him early on. He is also unlikely to bowl in this match due to the lack of LHBs in the Tallawahs’ top 5. Despite that, pick him for the safety net as he is selected in over 80% of the teams.
  • Azam Khan is considered to be a good player of spin but he struggles against left-arm orthodox bowling. Jamaica has 2 of them – Imad Wasim and Fabian Allen. He is still a good differential pick.

Jamaica Tallawahs – Fantasy Notes

  • Mohammad Amir suffered a groin inj in the last match and if he does not recover for the Final, Migael Pretorius is likely to replace him.
  • Brandon King is the 2nd highest run scorer at this venue and also has a good record against Barbados. His experience will be handy in this big match, at a venue he is familiar with.
  • As we mentioned in the last preview, Shamarh Brooks is reliable at protecting his wicket in these conditions and is still only selected in just over 50% of the teams.
  • Kennar Lewis becomes a default WK pick in the absence of a good alternative.
  • Rovman Powell struggles against wrist spin in the middle overs and Hayden Walsh will be his biggest threat. Pick him if he bats first as it is relatively trickier in the 2nd innings for the batter.
