Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the T20 World cup 2022 starting in less than months time due to a back injury. This is a major blow for team India ahead of the marquee tournament with Jadeja already being ruled out owing to his knee injury.
As per sources, the right-arm quick bowler has got serious back stress fracture and will be out of the action for a period of four to six months. Bumrah did not travel with the team for the first T20I against South Africa, played at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday, September 28. He has already travelled to NCA for rehabilitation.
After come back from a two-month injury lay-off, Bumrah played two T20Is against Australia before breaking down again. He had got stress fracture to the back before as well in 2019 after the India tour of West Indies.
Jasprit Bumrah has been facing back issues since 2019 and it was only a matter of time till it would arrive as he has an unorthodox action that stresses a lot on the back for his pace. He has been out of the team for most amount of the period since then and this injury would definitely be a cause of concern for him and put a lot of question marks on availability of the ace bowler for the future tournaments.
India is currently playing a T20 home series against South Africa leading by 1-0 and will begin their World cup campaign starting from 23rd October against their arch rivals Pakistan.
