Rocket League Esports has updated its logo ahead of the start of the 2022/23 competitive season on October 7th.
Psyonix has also revealed the location of the first Major of the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS). The Rotterdam Ahoy convention centre will host the Fall Major from December 8th to 11th. The tournament’s final two days will include a live audience.
The logo, according to a press release, “represents the future while remaining true to what makes our sport great.” Rocket League Esports revealed details about the 2022/23 season, which prompted the logo change. A refined format, as well as a $6 million (£5.57 million) prize pool split over three seasons, have been announced.
Competitive Rocket League has had a busy month in September. Aside from the RLCS, Psyonix also announced the expansion of Collegiate Rocket League (CRL) into Mexico and the renewal of its existing partnership with Nissan.
Rotterdam is the second city in the Netherlands to host an RLCS event. Season two grand finals were held in Amsterdam in 2016, with eight North American and European teams competing for $250,000 (£232,250) in prize money.
Psyonix also shared information about sign-ups for the Fall Open tournaments for multiple regions prior to the Fall Major. Player registration closes on September 27th and October 3rd.
Following the announcements, more details on tickets for the Fall Major and future events, including the World Championship, will be made available in the coming weeks.
