Why you should visit the Curragh to see the most lucrative youth racing in Europe? For the first time since 2009.

For the first time since 2009, Europe’s richest juvenile race, the Goffs Million, will take place at the Curragh on Saturday, and the sponsors are going all out to make sure those in attendance have an unforgettable raceday experience.

Recently, there has been much discussion about how Racing TV viewers at home are hearing and seeing more of the action than people who are actually present on Irish courses, but Goffs and the Curragh hope to change that this weekend.

Henry Beeby, chief executive officer of Goffs, commented on the idea by saying, “We are selling the fantasy of racehorse ownership and we want to make the day as spectacular as we can, making it all about the horse.”

We want the day to stand on its own two feet and make sure it is not just another day of racing. Our goal is for those who come to the Curragh on Saturday to learn more than those watching at home. It is not a Classic day and it is not a part of Irish Champions Weekend.

The Goffs Million is one of eight races at the Curragh on Saturday

Four of the jockeys riding in the Goffs Million will be equipped with JockeyCams, allowing for improved viewing on the track. Additionally, two MCs will be on duty to provide details that are currently absent from the raceday experience, such as how the horses are moving as they approach the starting gate and how the loading procedure is progressing.

Before racing, a thorough preview will be held during which bloodstock agents will discuss the selection procedure at the sales and trainers and jockeys will discuss some of the top contenders on the given day. During the preview, there will be horse action video.

Syndicates have also been invited to pitch their idea for shared ownership, and they will have representatives present on the day in a prominent spot where they can interact with potential customers. With A Taste of Kildare, a culinary event, taking place at the Curragh, the day will have a gourmet flair.
