German centre back Antonio Rudiger has heaped praise on the Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti.
German defender Antonio Rudiger has thanked the Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti for extremely easing out his transition from London club Chelsea to one of the most prestigious clubs in world football, Real Madrid.
Rudiger was amazed by the affectionate behaviour shown by Ancelotti. He shared a very interesting anecdote in a recent interview to a German media outlet Sport1. He was shocked to see the Madrid manager at his new home’s door just hours after arriving in Madrid for his transfer.
“I had only been in our new house with my family for a few hours – we were just barbecuing – and the doorbell suddenly rang. I opened it and Carlo Ancelotti was just standing in front of me. A wow moment. He sat down at the table with us, ate with us and got to know my family. Very normal, very down-to-earth. He was there for two hours, we talked about everything.”
Rudiger believes that Ancelotti’s man management skills are next to none. The term ‘untouchable’ was used by him to describe Ancelotti’s art of dealing with his players. ‘I’ll be honest, I’ve never experienced anything like it, no coach has ever done something like that for me. After the few months with him, I have to say: When it comes to dealing with players, Ancelotti is untouchable.”
Ancelotti’s longevity also attracted praise from Rudiger. “Stop Don Carlo, a coaching legend – he already collected Champions League titles when I was a child. Working with him every day now and at the most successful club in the world is wonderful.”
