Sky Sports has released its latest advertisement featuring pundits Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville, welcoming back the Premier League after a two-month-long hiatus.
Leading with the tagline “It’s only live once.” Sky Sports have released their new advertisement, featuring the return of football to England after a two-month-long hiatus. The season will start early across the continent due to the 2022 FIFA World Cup – scheduled to be played in Qatar later this year. The Premier League will kick off on August 5, a week after the lower divisions get the ball rolling. Meanwhile, the Women’s Super League will commence a month later, on September 9, giving those involved in the Women’s Euros ample time to refresh and recover.
Featuring Sky pundits Jamie Carragher, Gary Neville, Jamie Redknapp, Karen Carney, and Micah Richards, superimposed into memorable moments of last season and beyond, the advertisement seeks to build the excitement ahead of the return of English football. From Mohamed Salah’s wonderful solo goal against Manchester City to the Citizens sealing the title on the final day of the previous season, from Leicester City’s incredible triumph half a decade ago to Bournemouth’s return to the Premier League, the ad features all, prompting viewers to witness football as it’s meant to be – live.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal kick off the Premier League season on August 5, 2022, with a home tie against Crystal Palace, featuring a return to the Emirates of club great Patrick Vieira, now the manager of the Eagles. August 6 sees all three of the league’s newly-promoted teams in their season openers: Fulham against Liverpool, Nottingham Forest against Newcastle United, and Bournemouth against Aston Villa.
Chelsea close out Saturday, August 6, with a trip to Everton, while a day later the two Manchester giants, City and United, play West Ham United and Brighton and Hove Albion, respectively.
