Tristan Stubbs of Mumbai Indians

Coming in to bat at 86/4 in 9.4 overs in a tall chase of 235 on his debut innings for South Africa, Mumbai Indians’ Tristan Stubbs nearly turned the tables on England with a stunning 28-ball 72 in the first T20I between the two sides at Bristol.

The 21-year-old hit eight sixes in his knock and kept opposition captain Jos Buttler on his toes throughout the innings in a game that Buttler would have thought would be an easy ride home after scoring 234 and getting four early breakthroughs.

Mumbai Indians have a strong foundation to build on, with Dewald Brevis, Tim David, and Jofra Archer already sealed and a solid Indian core of Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Tilak Verma, and Jasprit Bumrah under captain Rohit Sharma.
