BGMI has been removed from App Store and Playstore in India. The game which was released last year has been pulled from these popular application stores.
The game was a relaunched version of the popular battle royale game PUBG Mobile. After PUBG Mobile was banned by the Indian government due to security concerns, the developers of the game Krafton rebranded and relaunched the game for the Indian market in July 2021.
The disappearing of BGMI from the Play Store invoked strong reactions on social media.
There were a lot of reactions from fans and players of the game with some suggesting to wait for an official confirmation.
If reports are to be believed BGMI has been pulled again from the application stores at the request of the government. As of now, we don’t know if this move is permanent or whether the game will make a comeback.
A Techcrunch report has confirmed that Apple and Google have taken the decision at the behest of the Indian government. TechCrunch was able to get a statement from a Google spokesperson who confirmed: “On receipt of the order, following established process, we have notified the affected developer and have blocked access to the app that remained available on the Play Store in India.” Apple has not released any statement as of now.
