Wicketkeepers- Fantasy Angles and Stats:

Phil Salt: The safest option from this section, Phil Salt opens the batting and is in fine form, with 199 runs at a strike rate of 135 in two games. No Dutch bowler has troubled the right-hander so far, and so we have no reason to leave him out.

Jos Buttler: As we had predicted, Jos Buttler didn’t get a chance to bat in the last game despite England losing 4 wickets. However, if the visitors bat first today, it could all change.

Scott Edwards:

In 2022: 473 runs in 11 innings at 47/92

In this series: 72*(56), 78(74)

Edwards has six 50+ scores and five sub-20 scores in 11 innings so far in 2022. With few Dutch players matching his output level, the 25-year-old becomes a default selection.

Batters – Fantasy Angles and Stats:

Jason Roy: Backing Roy in the last game worked as the opener fetched the highest fantasy points. Openers playing against lower-ranked teams in batting-friendly conditions are always the safest C/VC option.

Tom Cooper: Tom Cooper started well in the last game with a couple of boundaries but couldn’t last long. The 35-year-old bowled a couple of overs and got a wicket as well—one of the safest picks from the Netherlands side.

In Netherlands: 588 runs in 12 innings at 53/67

Liam Livingstone: Livingstone bowled 5 overs in the last game and picked up a wicket. The all-rounder is a good pick even if England are chasing, as his bowling is good enough to fetch decent points.

In this series: 66*(22), 4(6) & 1/25 (5)

Dawid Malan: The only anchor in a lineup full of attacking batters, Malan becomes very important from the fantasy point of view, as he doesn’t take many risks and can pile up a lot of runs against a weak bowling attack. 2X/1.5X-ing Malan while batting first could be a match-winning decision.

In this series: 125(109), 36*(50)

Allrounders – Fantasy Angles and Stats:

Moeen Ali: Moeen’s quota of overs was reduced in the last game, but he stepped up with the bat, scoring 42*(40) to help his team chase the target. The 35-year-old’s batting position is too low for this game, and with Livingstone also rolling his arm over, his overs could be reduced again.

In this series: 3/57 (10), 42*(40) & 0/28 (4)

Logan van Beek: Logan van Beek is not only one of the most experienced players in the Dutch squad but also their first-choice death bowler. The right-arm pacer is also handy with the bat down the order, making him one of the four Dutch picks for this game.

In this series: 6(5) & 1/82 (10), 30(36) & 0/26 (6)

Bowlers – Fantasy Angles and Stats:

Fred Klaassen: The return of Fred Klaasen will provide a much-needed boost to the Dutch bowling attack as the left-arm pacer has picked up two or more wickets in 10 out of 13 innings in his ODI career. Another safe pick from the Dutch side.

Paul van Meekeren: Meekeren is also making a comeback into the side, making the Netherlands bowling attack slightly better than it was in the first two games of the series. The right-arm pacer was in good form, picking up 5 wickets in 3 games in the T20 Blast before getting sidelined due to injury.

Adil Rashid:

Since 2021: 6 wickets in 8 innings at the strike rate of 72

Adil Rashid has gone wicketless four times in his last 8 innings. Rashid is bowling a couple of overs at the back end of the innings and with this game’s pitch likely to be the slowest of the series, expect the leggie to get a couple of wickets.

David Payne has a stellar List A record, picking up 110 wickets in 67 innings at a strike rate of 26. If the 31-year-old gets a chance to make his debut today, he will be one of the best differentials to have.

Predicted Playing XI:

England: Phil Salt, Jason Roy, Dawid Malan, Eoin Morgan(c), Jos Buttler(wk), Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, David Willey, Reece Topley/David Payne, Adil Rashid, Brydon Carse

Netherlands: Max O’Dowd, Vikramjit Singh, Tom Cooper, Bas de Leede, Scott Edwards(c/wk), Teja Nidamanuru, Logan van Beek, Tim Pringle, Aryan Dutt, Fred Klaassen, Paul van Meekeren
