Wicketkeepers – Fantasy Angles and Stats:

Kusal Mendis: With 209 runs in 3 games, Kusal Mendis is the leading run-scorer of the series and one of the biggest reasons behind Sri Lanka leading it 2-1. Leaving the right-hander out in this kind of form can cost you badly.

At R. Premadasa Stadium: 456 runs in 9 innings at 65/88

Niroshan Dickwella: Dickwella is in fine form in List A cricket this year, scoring 339 runs at an average of 48 runs per wicket and a strike rate of 132 in Sri Lanka’s domestic 50 overs tournament.

There were signs of his top form even in the last ODI, where he started all guns blazing. Against an injury-hit Australian attack, you can trust the 28-year-old to stay at the crease longer in this game. Considering he is the one who actually keeps wickets for his side, one of the top differential picks in the game.

At R. Premadasa Stadium: 179 runs in 5 innings at 36/87

Batters – Fantasy Angles and Stats:

Pathum Nissanka: Nissanka had a slow start to his ODI career, scoring only 86 runs in 9 matches in 2021. But it has been a different story in 2022: in 6 matches this year, the right-hander has 353 runs at an average of 59.

Anchors are generally worth their weight in gold in ODIs, as they can play at their own pace and mostly have only batting-friendly decks to deal with.

David Warner: David Warner now has 3 single-digit scores in as many innings at R. Premadasa stadium. A player of his quality will turn it around sooner than later, but the problem with banking on him to come good today lies with the venue: Premadasa is one of the most challenging decks in world cricket for batters.

Scores in this series: 0, 37, 9

Aaron Finch: Aaron Finch has looked more in control than David warner in the ODI leg of the series. Finch has a better overall record in Sri Lanka as the right-hander has scored 265 runs in 8 innings averaging 38 runs per wicket. Picking both Australian openers is risky, so we’re going with Finch in this game.

All-rounders – Fantasy Angles and Stats:

Glenn Maxwell: Despite batting at No.7, Glenn Maxwell is Australia’s leading run-scorer in this series, with 143 runs in three games. Apart from that, he has three wickets to his name as well. Top C/VC option.

Maxwell at No. 7: 682 runs in 18 innings at 52/129

Dhananjaya de Silva: de Silva is yet to play a significant innings with the bat, but he has looked in good touch. Sri Lanka also heavily rely on him with the ball in this series, and on a wicket like this, we wouldn’t even mind 2X/1.5X-ing him. Differential alert!

At R. Premadasa Stadium: 236 runs in 12 innings at 21/75 & 8 wickets at the strike rate of 48.

Dunith Wellalage: Wellalage was impressive with the ball again in the last game and is now the leading wicket-taker in the series, with 5 wickets in 3 innings. The pitch is likely to slow down even more in this game, so expect a couple of wickets from the left-arm spinner.

Bowlers – Fantasy Angles and Stats:

Jeffrey Vandersay: Vandersay bowled beautifully in the last game and picked up the wickets of Finch, Labuschagne and Maxwell. In 5 games in Sri Lanka, he has 12 wickets at an impressive SR of 18. With another turning pitch likely on offer, expect Vandersay to be among the wickets again.

Josh Hazlewood: Hazlewood has had a difficult series so far, picking up only 2 wickets in 26.3 overs. But a bowler of his quality, especially when he is one of the only two pacers in the XI, is never far away from an easy 2-wicket day.

Dushmantha Chameera: Sri Lanka’s first choice death bowler, Dushmantha Chameera likes bowling at this venue. On top of death value, he could also get you a wicket or two up front and come in handy with the bat.

At R. Premadasa Stadium: 10 wickets in 57 overs at the strike rate of 34.

Predicted Playing XI:

Sri Lanka: Pathum Nissanka, Niroshan Dickwella(wk), Kusal Mendis, Dhananjaya de Silva, Charith Asalanka, Dasun Shanaka(c), Chamika Karunaratne, Dunith Wellalage, Dushmantha Chameera, Jeffrey Vandersay, Maheesh Theekshana

Australia: Aaron Finch(c), David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Marnus Labuschagne, Alex Carey(wk), Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, Jhye Richardson, Matt Kuhnemann, Josh Hazlewood
