Shadow BGMI

Shadow strikes deal with Godlike Esports ahead of the BGMI Masters Series, allegations of poaching raised.

Godlike Esports has found themselves in the middle of a controversy after signing top rated BGMI player, Shadow. The professional esports organization is facing poaching allegations from TSM BGMI after inducting Shadow into their roster.

The controversy started with the signing of Shadow where TSM claims that the player still has an active contract with them. TSM has been a top team in BGMI since it’s early days. The team has won six unofficial tournaments and approximately $100,000 USD in prize money, till now.

Most recently, they won the Nodwin All Stars Invitational. Their winning streak was halted when they failed to qualify for the BMPS. After this Shadow was put on the bench and Blaze was brought in as an IGL (in-game leader).

The BGMI Nodwin Masters Series is knocking at the door and the Indian esports community is not so happy with this incident.

What happened?

Shadow who has previously played for Enigma Gaming before joining TSM in 2021 is an effective IGL (in game leader). TSM claimed on Instagram that GodLike has clearly violated a code of conduct by signing one of their players. Shadow was also dissatisfied with the management’s decison to bench him after TSM’s eviction from BMPS.

GodLike Esports have failed to put on a good performance in 2022 till now. They finished 13th in the PMGC 2021 finals and failed to qualify for the BMPS Season 1 as they were eliminated in the fourth round of BMOC.

In order to bolster their performance, GodLike signed Viru and Gill earlier this year. Even after that the team has provided dismal results. The signing of Shadow was done to achieve victory in upcoming tournaments. Shadow himself took to Instagram to clear his stance on the matter.

Two LAN (Nodwin and Skyesports) events will be held in the upcoming months. The upcoming BGMI Nodwin Masters Series will be around a month-long LAN event in India, which is all set to start on 24 June.
