Wicketkeepers- Fantasy Angles and Stats:
Rishabh Pant: Things are going from bad to worse for the Indian captain as he has managed only 28 runs at the strike rate of 74 in the last three games. Pant likes batting at the Chinnaswamy, though, averaging 37 runs per wicket in 6 innings. Moreover, the shorter boundaries at the venue counteract his weakness against wide lines, so getting him in in the hope of a massive differential play is entirely worth it.
vs RF Pace since 2018 in Ov 12-20:
- In IPL: 14 dismissals in 90 balls at 11/175
- In T20I: 6 dismissals in 52 balls at 9/103
vs Left-arm spin:
- In IPL: 7 dismissals in 123 balls at 27/155
- In T20I: 7 dismissals in 38 balls at 7/126
Quinton de Kock: Like Pant, Quinton de Kock also likes batting at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
At M. Chinnaswamy Stadium: 463 runs in 11 innings at 46/147
After failing to score big runs in both games so far, de Kock will not be the first choice captaincy option for many managers, giving us an opportunity to 2X/1.5X him. Differential alert!
Batters – Fantasy Angles and Stats:
Ishan Kishan: Leading run-scorer of the series, with 191 runs in four games, Ishan Kishan is one of the safest bets in this game. As we predicted, it was Nortje’s fast short ball that got the Indian opener out in the last game, but again, like with Pant, the shorter boundaries at the Chinnaswamy negate these types of weaknesses.
vs Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje: 147 runs at 49/181
David Miller: Miller has gone out of favour among fantasy managers after back-to-back failures, and this is an opportunity for you to turn him into a differential.
Ruturaj Gaikwad: Despite struggling for runs, Gaikwad is a popular choice in this game. Jansen’s left-arm angle is the only threat for him in this game, and if he gets through it, expect plenty of runs here.
Allrounders – Fantasy Angles and Stats:
Dwaine Pretorius: Pretorius is South Africa’s leading wicket-taker in this series, with 5 wickets in 4 games. Regarding his all-round value, South Africa might go back to the traditional way of using him as a lower middle-order hitter after a hat-trick of failures at No.3.
Hardik Pandya: With three 30+ knocks in four games, Hardik has taken his IPL form to international cricket. The all-rounder was not used much with the ball in the last game, but with de Kock back in the lineup and short boundaries to contend with for spinners, he should get at least a couple of overs today.
SR in Ov 17-20 in IPL: 185.5
Bowlers – Fantasy Angles and Stats:
Yuzvendra Chahal: After struggling in the first two games, Chahal returned figures of 8-0-41-5 in Games 3 and 4. With the legspinner back at his happy hunting ground, expect him to end the tournament strongly.
Harshal Patel: Bowled only two overs in the previous game as SA were bundled out in the 17th over. But the 31-year-old getting the better of David Miller in the last two games is one of the reasons why India have managed to level the series from being 0-2 down. Top C/VC pick if India bowl first.
In Ov 16-20 since last year: 32 wickets at a strike rate of 9.4
Avesh Khan: As we had predicted, Avesh Khan found his wicket-taking form last game, picking up a four-for. Avesh is still on the lower side of selection on major fantasy platforms, making him a differential for this game as well.
Lungi Ngidi: Ngidi bowled well in the last game, picking up 2 wickets. If South Africa bowl first, the right-arm quick is a safe option considering he is one of their go-to death bowlers.
Lungi Ngidi in Ov (16-20) in T20Is: 20 wickets at a strike rate of 8.6
Predicted Playing XI:
India: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant(c/wk), Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik, Axar Patel, Harshal Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan
South Africa: Temba Bavuma(c)/Reeza Hendricks, Quinton de Kock(wk), Dwaine Pretorius, Rassie van der Dussen, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Wayne Parnell, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Keshav Maharaj, Tabraiz Shamsi
If Temba Bavuma doesn’t recover in time, expect Reeza Hendricks to replace him.
