Wicketkeepers- Fantasy Angles and Stats:

Rishabh Pant: A few failures have resulted in Pant’s selection% dropping down heavily, and here’s an opportunity for you to convert him into a differential.

vs RF Pace since 2018 in Ov 12-20:

  • In IPL: 14 dismissals in 90 balls at 11/175
  • In T20I: 5 dismissals in 45 balls at 10/109

vs Left-arm spin:

  • In IPL: 7 dismissals in 123 balls at 27/155
  • In T20I: 6 dismissals in 31 balls at 7/135

Heinrich Klaasen: In his current form, if Klassen bats in the top 4, there is not a lot of value in leaving him out, especially considering the wicketkeeping points in play. But he bats at 5, and No.5 is one of the most challenging positions to return fantasy value for a batter in T20 cricket.

Pant gave almost similar points to Klaasen in the last game, despite scoring only 5 runs due to a couple of catches and a runout. So we are again taking a gamble here by picking the Indian captain over Klassen.

Batters – Fantasy Angles and Stats:

Ishan Kishan: South Africa are starting to work out Ishan Kishan’s weakness against the fast short ball. While it isn’t enough reason for you to leave him out from your XI, that just about does it to stay away from 2x/1.5x-ing him.

vs Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje: 147 runs at 73/183

Ruturaj Gaikwad: Gaikwad averages 30 runs per wicket at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium. With the return of form in the last game, expect the 25-year-old to come to the party today.

David Miller: After a failure in the last game, Miller’s selection % has dropped to 60. Klaasen delivering at No.5 will ensure the left-hander stays at No.6 for this game as well. So it is not a bad idea for you to be part of the 40%.

Allrounders – Fantasy Angles and Stats:

Dwaine Pretorius: Pretorius is South Africa’s leading wicket-taker in this series with 4 wickets in three games, besides scoring 53 runs with the bat. Top C/VC option.

Hardik Pandya: Pandya is in great batting form with two unbeaten 30+ knocks in three games. The likely return of Quinton de Kock brings his bowling value into play as well, as it won’t be easy for Pant to get 8 overs out of Chahal and Axar. Top C/VC option.

SR in Ov 17-20 in IPL: 185.5

Bowlers – Fantasy Angles and Stats:

Yuzvendra Chahal: After struggling in the first 2 games, Chahal had a memorable day out, returning figures of 4-0-20-3. The leggie has 7 wickets in 4 games at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium and looks good for decent returns today.

Kagiso Rabada: Rabada is South Africa’s most economical bowler in the series, but he has only 2 wickets in 3 games. The right-arm quick had a blockbuster IPL season, so it is just a matter of time before a player of his calibre contributes heavily to his fantasy managers. Differential C/VC Alert!

In Ov 16-20 since 2018: 55 wickets at a strike rate of 8.5

Harshal Patel: Harshal rattled SA’s middle and lower-middle order with his slow ball variations and grabbed a four-for in the last game. If the Rajkot surface provides some assistance for him, expect a couple of wickets from the 31-year-old.

In Ov 16-20 since last year: 32 wickets at a strike rate of 9.4

Avesh Khan: With only 1 wicket in the last 5 games, Avesh Khan is the least selected bowler on major fantasy platforms for this fixture. And like with Pant, this is yet another opportunity to have a huge differential option on your side. One of the top C/VC options for mega leagues.

Predicted Playing XI:

India: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant(c/wk), Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik, Axar Patel, Harshal Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan

South Africa: Temba Bavuma(c), Reeza Hendricks/Quinton de Kock, Dwaine Pretorius, Rassie van der Dussen, Heinrich Klaasen(wk), David Miller, Wayne Parnell, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Keshav Maharaj, Tabriaz Shamsi

Quinton de Kock will replace Reeza Hendricks if he’s declared fit.
