Key Points:

  • Ramesh Podiyachi becomes an important pick if Kutch Warriors bowl first.
  • Yuvraj Chudasama’s fantasy value increases if Gohilwad Gladiators bat first.
  • The final Team with C/VC picks will be given after the toss.

Fantasy Board – Wicketkeeper:

Harvik Desai:

The former India U19 wicketkeeper Harvik Desai is one of the best batters in his team. Desai is also the wicketkeeper of Saurashtra’s First Class and List A teams. The 22-year-old opens the batting and has already scored a fifty in the tournament.

Performances in this tournament: 16(11), 55(48), 6(7)

Nihar Vaghela:

Nihar Vaghela also opens the batting for his team, but with a strike rate of under 100 and no 30+ scores, he has had a poor tournament so far. The 20-year-old represented Saurashtra in the 2019-20 edition of the Cooch Behar Trophy and averaged just 26 runs per wicket. No point in picking him even in mega leagues.

Performances in this tournament: 6(11), 27(35)

Fantasy Board – Batters:

Samarth Vyas:

The most experienced batter of Kutch Warriors, Samarth Vyas scored a brilliant 102*(59) yesterday and bailed his team out of trouble after losing three early wickets. The 26-year-old is also a key player for Saurashtra in the List A and T20 circuit. So there’s no reason for us to leave him out in this fixture.

Performances in this tournament: 34(26), 7(7) and 102*(59)

Krishnakant Pathak:

Krishnakant Pathak is an attacking opening batter. Pathak failed to convert his start in the last game, but expect him to score some quick runs in this fixture. The 29-year-old scored 119 runs at 29.75 runs per wicket in the last edition of SPL.

Performances in this tournament: 42(24), 51(35), 14(12)

Fantasy Board – Allrounders:

Prerak Mankad:

Prerak Mankad is one of Saurashtra’s best players in all three formats of the game. Mankad’s fantasy potential is unmatched as he bats at one down and bowls a couple of overs. C/VC alert!

Performances in this tournament: 82(54) & 1/34 (4) and 1(4) & 0/15 (2)

Jaydev Unadkat:

In addition to being one of the best bowlers in the tournament, Unadkat also bats at No.5 in this league, making him one of the best C/VC options in this match.

Performances in this tournament: 12(11) & 2/22 (4), 17(17) & 0/17 (4)

Kuldeep Raval:

Kuldeep Raval picked up a 4-for in the last game and then helped his team chase down a low score of 110 by scoring 20 off just 12 balls. It’s hard to ignore Raval after such a performance, but keep in mind that he bowled only 1 over in the first game and also didn’t get a chance to bat. The 36-year-old picked up just 3 wickets in the last edition of SPL.

We recommend picking him in your XI, but not 2X/1.5Xing him, as that would be a result of recency bias.

Performances in this tournament: 20*(12) & 4/14 (4) and DNB & 0/10 (1)

Fantasy Board – Bowlers:

Shaurya Sanandia:

Shaurya Sanandia has a 3-for in both games of this year’s SPL. The 35-year-old has picked up 28 wickets for Saurashtra in 16 games in his T20 career at a strike rate of 12. The right-arm pacer’s consistent wicket-taking ability makes him a default pick for this game.

Performances in this tournament: 3/19 (3) and 3/19 (4)

Yuvraj Chudasama:

Yuvraj Chudasama is a young leg spinner who has picked up 19 wickets in 12 games in his T20 career. Chudasama has bowled one over at the death in both games this tournament, which improves his fantasy potential further.

Performances in this tournament: 3/27 (4) and 0/22 (3)

Kushang Patel:

The leading wicket-taker of SPL 2022, Kushang Patel, is a default pick in the bowling section. Kushang has picked up at least 2 wickets in all 3 games so far. This kind of consistency results from him regularly bowling 2 overs at the death. Differential C/VC choice if Kutch Warriors bowl first.

His performance in this tournament: 2/18 (4), 2/26 (4) and 3/18 (4)

Agnivesh Ayachi and Ramesh Padiyachi are the other good options in play today. Both bowl right-arm medium pace and have 3 wickets in 3 games in the tournament. Ayachi operates mainly in the middle overs, while Padiyachi has the advantage of bowling a couple of overs at the death. If Kutch Warriors are bowling first, we recommend going in with Padiyachi.

Predicted Playing XI:

Kutch Warriors: Krishnakant Pathak, Harvik Desai(wk), Dev Dand, Samarth Vyas, Alok Ranjan, Amit Ranjan, Agnivesh Ayachi(c), Vandit Jivrajani, Kushang Patel, Ramesh Padiyachi, Saurish Chakraborty

Gohliwad Gladiators: Nihar Vaghela(wk), Vishvaraj Jadeja, Prerak Mankad, Raxit Mehta, Jaydev Unadkat(c), Jyot Chhaya, Kuldeep Raval, Shaurya Sanandia, Fenil Soni, Yuvraj Chudasama, Aum Kanabar
